THOUGHTS ON STEWARDSHIP:  Mark 10:29-30: “Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, 30 who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.” This is Jesus’ encouragement for every faithful disciple – let it encourage you today.

THOUGHTS ON STEWARDSHIP:  Hebrews 3:18-19: “And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.” Unbelief leads to disobedience – that is, every sin expresses the opposite of faith. True and living faith guides us into the Lord’s way and the Lord’s plan. And when we fall into sin it’s because we are not trusting the Lord’s goodness and provision.

THE ADULT BIBLE CLASS, led by Pastor Lueck and meeting in the church basement at 9:15 a.m. is studying “Lutheran Doctrine and Practice Today”.

TODAY IN SUNDAY SCHOOL, the lesson recalls the account of “Moses and the Burning Bush.” Just as God had Moses remove the sandals from his feet, God in Christ removes our sins from us, making us fit to approach God and stand in His presence. Discuss, “Who makes us holy before God? What did Moses have to do, and why, in order to be in God’s presence?”

TODAY will be our monthly Door Offering for Seminarian Bradley Ferch. Bradley is in his fourth year of study at Concordia Theological Seminary in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

PASTOR’S SCHEULE: Pastor Lueck will be out of the office this Monday—Wednesday afternoon attending the Central Illinois District Pastor’s Conference. The Conference is in town so if you have an emergency, please call him on his cell phone (309) 838-0306. If pastor survives the seminary grudge match basketball game on Monday evening he will be winded and sore but propped up behind his desk on Wednesday afternoon.

THOUGHTS ON STEWARDSHIP:  Mark 10:6: “But from the beginning of creation. . .” In recent years our country, along with most all the Christian nations of Europe, has lost its way when it comes to marriage we have ignored the fact that it is God who created us. We always go off the tracks when we forget that He made us and that everything good in this world is from His hand. In big things and in small things, in the life of a nation or the life of an individual: things go dreadfully wrong when we ignore the Creator’s instructions for life.

TODAY is Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) Sunday. We will say the League Pledge and have a prayer for their work in today’s worship service. We thank the Lord for these ladies service in many areas of outreach in our Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
